I called my lecturer to inform her that we would be late to class as we had to go through heavy rain and traffic. She was okay with that....YAHHoo!!!.

..~E-Book~..

Another week had past and it mean another technology or knowledge had been installed in my 'tiny' but working brain....hehe.

On that day, we were shown a few examples of digital book or some might said E-Book. I was amused of what technology could do to enhance our teaching and learning session. E-book serves as interesting and ...platform for children to read books. No more big books or small books...hehe..

Then, we ought to produce our own E-book...I was excited and started to draft my own storyline and what to teach in my story..It was not supposed to be so hard in creating a story when finally had decided on the theme of your story. From the theme, you can finally decided on what to focus.

Now, I'm off to do my E-book...

Cheers.

Last week, Lukman and I was assigned(i don know if that's the correct term,..maybe 'hired' is more suitable.hehe) to get our seniors(cousins actually) robe for their Convocation Day...We, selfishnessly agreed to carried out the task..(haha..sounds like so important)...the queue was so long that i almost missed my REsourseS class..

So, i called Pn Foziah and told her that i might be late to her class..Thankfully, she was so considerate to let us coming to the class a bit late....

The class actually started a bit late not because of us...BUT....Fire Drill practise...lucky us...
On that day we learned about photo editing and have to edit ONE picture and post it in my blog.

"learning should an enjoyable, fun yet beneficial trip and we as a teacher should be the great captain to cruise the ship along with its crew."

Well, obviously that does not look like a good captain and he has no crew at all..hahaha...But just accept it as it is my foundation to create my philosophy of teaching that need to be implemented in the classroom. Everyone should have their own philosophy in order to guide them in teaching.

Basically, I portrayed the learning experience as the ship, the ship that my lovely (don’t think it negatively. I am not a phidophelia type of guy) student will cruise along with me. Hence I should build a ship that is safe and comfortable. To create a safe environment for them, I applied the Humanistic learning approach. Humanistic psychology is a school of psychology that emerged in the 1950s in reaction to both behaviorism and psychoanalysis. The approach of humanistic psychology is explicitly concerned with the human dimension of psychology and the human context for the development of psychological theory. Using this approach, I emphasize the "natural desire" of everyone to learn. What I can understand from this approach is that I should consider the needs of my pupils. Agreeing to Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, I must make sure their needs are being fulfilled. In this case is the environment of the classroom itself. Making the classroom look clean, colourful and not threatening will motivates the pupils to learn and engaged in class. Also, by considering the level of each students will helps me to construct suitable tasks for every pupil in the class. As a result, there will no pupils who afraid to go to class because of their inability to involve in the class activities or pupils who lose interest on the subject because they are simply too easy. Considering these factors will help to create a safe and warm welcoming environment on the classroom. That’s the ship that will foster their interest and development in learning.

The captain refers to the teacher who will decide the route of the ship. Thus, in the classroom I am not only teaching the subject for the pupils to understand and gain knowledge, but also provide them with the supports that they need in order to learn. Teacher should act as facilitator, motivator instructor and the most important thing is the role model for them to follow. The captain also must choose the ‘route’; which means the appropriate tasks for them to achieve a certain goal (the understanding of certain knowledge). If the captain failed to guide them, the crew (pupil) will sink and do not gain anything from the learning experience.

As a conclusion, teacher plays a vital part in leading the pupils to achieve excellence and they must know how to do it.

Cheers.
